Passing the Baton – AOPA Airport Support Network Volunteer

18 years!  That’s how long Bend pilot and aircraft owner Gary Miller has served as the AOPA Airport Support Network volunteer for our Bend Municipal Airport.

Please join the Friends of Bend Airport in thanking Gary for his service in getting AOPA region management involved on many occasions for issues at our airport that made a difference.  The next time you see Gary, thank him for his service.

Gary’s not going away!  He still serves as president of the Central Oregon chapter of the Oregon Pilots Assoc. and hosts the monthly chapter meeting and Saturday flyout.  You can get on that mailing list by dropping Gary a line a gem@rellim.com

And if you’ve been to the Madras Airshow of the Cascades, you’ve heard Gary’s voice, as he is one of the announcers.

Gary Miller was the announcer at the EAA chapter’s Ford Trimotor weekend visit, May 2019.  You’ll rarely see Gary without his companion Mr. Sparky.

Introducing Eric Schuur – Incoming AOPA Airport Support Network Volunteer

Join us in welcoming Eric.  Eric got his license some years ago and has put a renewed emphasis on flying and getting advanced ratings, at Bend Municipal Airport.  He also wants to “Give back”.   This spring Friends of Bend Airport will be hosting an event, and we’ll make sure you get an opportunity to meet him.

You can help Eric be the “Eyes and ears” at the airport, and you can make contact with Eric via e-mail at the AOPA ASN web site form.
