Airport Rules & Reg’s Update: Video Conference: Saturday, Feb. 24th, 9:00 am
Early last November, the City of Bend released a draft of the updated airport Rules and Regulations, Minimum Standards, and Development and Leasing Policy It’s been over two months since the public comment period closed. Hundreds of comments were submitted by nearly 100 persons, and that underscores your interest in the topic.
The 20+ person Friends of Bend Airport workgroup that organized in October to provide suggested language changes based on your comments has collectively put in hundreds of hours of effort to prepare and present those changes for a revised version of the city-authored draft of the updated Airport Rules and Regulations.
A 6-hour meeting was held on January 26th with the city’s team, its advisors and 5 representatives from the Friends workgroup. The suggested language changes were presented and discussed, with the city team showing considerable interest. Your Friends workgroup also reiterated comments many of you made regarding the city’s revised investment-killing leasing policy, and presented a suggested policy aimed at getting the airport back on an “Investable” path.
The city team is presently revising the first draft, and we expect it to be released in March.
This coming Saturday, February 24th, at 9:00 am the Friends workgroup will be hosting a video conference to review the presentation, discussion and next steps from the Jan. 26th meeting – especially the leasing policy, which prompted much discussion. This is your opportunity to understand, comment and ask questions.
